Why does it state:

"... White draughts, that reached the eighth horizontal, as well as black draughts, that reached the first horizontal, are considered as draughts anyway, i.e. there are no kings here. ..."

but then in the sample the white piece makes both forward and backward jumps?

Perhaps it should say that all draughts move like kings.
